History
The Arctic Plunge non profit organization consists of six volunteer members: Herb Knutson, Warren Lysdahl, Sue Lysdahl, Duke Dutkiewicz, Brad Olson and Carrie Englund.
The ARCTIC PLUNGE was formed after Herb Knutson took the first ARCTIC PLUNGE into the frigid waters of Long Lake following the 911 attacks. The first plunge was held in February of 2002 raising $5,500.00 to benefit the Red Cross!
Donations
Over the past seven years the Arctic Plunge has raised over $83,000. Some of the beneficiaries of this money have been the Isanti Fire Department, Isanti County Safety Rescue, Isanti Area Food Shelves, Children Come First and local churches who assist homeless families.
2009 proved to be another great year with over 150 "Plungers" to take the brave jump!
Join us on March 6th, 2010 for the 8th Annual ARCTIC PLUNGE!
